Can you hear: God God Dammit Dammit - SA Waste Vol.1 abandon all hop ye who enter here.I think I may have died some time today and I must have lead an evil life as tonight I find myself in the depths of HTMhell! I've found a computer is a very dumb animal. It does exactly what it's told without question or interpenetration and on the rare event that it does do what I want it comes through the wrong size, colour or shape. I love computers and technology when they do what I want them to in a nice and timely way. vector illustration is one of my true loves and photo manipulation too. even digital animation (although tedious at times) is very rewarding. HTML on the other hand is like pulling teeth with a pair of rusty tweezers. I find myself working very hard to change the colour of text. I'm still very much luring my way around the wonderful world of the internet 2.0 and Redbubble has been an excellent shallow end for me to dip my toes in. I've mostly been lurking but I guess now is the time to dive in and sink or swim. tommorow I'm going to tackle bubble sites. I think I might try out a few and see what happens. I'm not sure I like the deviantart logo all over everything. If anyone has a good image host they can recommend I'd love to hear about it. Can you hear: Carmina Burana - Orff I only just woke upI've been medicating my cold with paracetamol and more mild stuff such as wasabi, horse radish and garlic during the day and hard stuff like pseudoephedrine or Phenylephrine hydrochloride during the night. These drugs are dangerous for me as I'm very sensitive to them. They can knock me out for hours at a time. The thing that scares me most about it is that I don't dream. I get this kind of time drop where I close my eyes for a second and it's ten hours later (and this is the "Non drowsy formula") and I still feel tired. Needless to say I avoid driving after taking these. I usually wake during the REM cycle and so I remember my dreams very well but on pseudoephedrine all I get is a second of black. Talking filmsI've solved the problem with exporting and managed to get my footage onto DVD to be presented last night at Kion. I even made a menu system with a bit of Ink Rain in it. It went down very well and I think Kino is starting to take off again. I'd like to go to Sydney for their Kino but it doesn't look likely at the moment. With regards to the Dusk Day film I'm working on the storyboards and hope to get them finalized on the weekend to get the whole thing rolling. and all is right with the world, well almostI got a new graphics tablet pen delivered today and it works strait out of the box. I'm thinking of hiding it in a box so the cat cant get at it. Now all I need to do is get over this cold and I'll be right.

I hate exporting video!I hate to bitch about things after not posting here for so long but...I've finished an animation for the moving images festival as part of SALA and now all I need to do is put it on DVD. The way I did it before is not working for some reason. This seems to happen every single time I try to put something on DVD something to do with codecs and not outputting in a version computable with flash 5. All I really want a button that says "put this on DVD" and not have to go through all this crap about exporting to this then moving this to this and changing this setting before it will go into this and work with this which means that that won't like it so I need to use this instead but with this setting switched to this and this but then using this instead of this as this doesn't work with this setting set to this so this will output as a steaming pile of crap! I've really got to get this stuff figured out. A pen, a pen, my kingdom for a pen!I've also lost the pen for my graphics tablet. I've always been very particular and meticulous about keeping it in it's rightful spot, in the little holder on the top of the tablet. but when I went to use it this afternoon it was all kinds of not there. I spent a fair chunk of time searching for the darn thing and turned up a Stanly knife, a comb, a paper on the Blender free ware pipeline, no less than 7 lead pencils, a roll of waxed dental floss and a set of headphones. This means I can't do any work with till I find it or get a new pen or even upgrade. ![]() http://syndicated.livejournal.com/bunny and to top it all off I've got a cold.

Got grant!I got a grant! It's to do an animated short film. It's supported by the PRA and Monkey Stack and it has distribution as part of it. The really cool thing is its got distribution so its going to be made and then get out there. The film I'm making is going to be done in Ink Rain and it's set in a forest so I'm going to be drawing a lot of trees. It's too darn cold...the weather has closed in a little and now we're stuck under a great bug cold snap. Hello LJ my odd friendWell it's been a while since my last post, so here's a brief rundown of what's been happening. *thinks* I've been diving, boots and all, into the development grant I got last year, learning some crazy new skills like felting and mosaic. I've written and submitted two more grant applications, so figures crossed. I've got a venue for the SALA festival WOO! It's called tape Deck Razor Blade. I'm excited because it's central and all hip and cool. I'm over haling my website to include a blog and shop. I've been doing a puppetry development as part of Pooka Puppets. It's going to be great, it uses projection and corridor lighting. ArtsHere be arts. I've been keeping up with this drawing every day thing for around 230 days now and still going strong. I'm going to put it into my new improved site once I figure out the design stuff. ![]() ( Follow me to lots of Arts in no particular order. ) And while we're on the subject I've got some work in the up coming youth scape exhibition for the Royal South Australian Society of Art http://www.rsasa.com

Can you hear: VulgarGrad - Popular Street Songs of the Russian Underclass Puppets and poppets my preciousI've been doing puppet shows all week so far and been having a great time. I'm doing a show called Pigs in Wigs, a corrupted fairy tale. It's the story of the three little pigs but retold form the perspective of the wolf. I've also done a few stints in the puppet cabaret just filling in and generally helping out. I'm trying to get another few shows up based on my poetry. Just give me Vodka and watch me dance!I've seen a bunch of shows including Vulgar Grad a Russian band out of Melbourne that does the most perfect music to drink Vodka to. http://www.vulgargrad.com/ Another band I saw was the Crusty Suitcase Band, a full brass and drums line up. http://www.myspace.com/thecrustysuitcas I've seen countless comedy shows and puppet shows too. Some highlights are Professor Haig's Gothic Punch and Judy and Lawrence Leung Learns to Breakdance. Some art as I'm still finding the time somehow. The two above the cut are for a set dressing job I'm doing. ![]() ![]() ( Art round up. )

Secondly I've got some puppet shows I'm doing that I'll tell you all about as soon as I know. Thirdly I'm doing a whole lot of work for High Beam Global including some set dressing, a TV ad and much more. Can you hear: The film Dragonwyck - Joseph L. Mankiewicz Cast your eyeFor those of you in Adelaide or those of you coming hither I have much news. I have some events to talk up and more so when I get some official press. Firstly if you turn to page 70 of this year's Adelaide Fringe guide you will find an ad for High Beam Global. I did the graphic design for it. Not only that but I have an exhibition coming up in High Beam Global Visual Arts program. It opens on the 25th of February and runs 12:00noon to 5:00pm Monday to Saturday. Secondly on page 19 of the Garden of Unearthly Delights guide you will find an ad for the Puppet Palace. I have two things in the Puppet Palace. Firstly a short show that I have written and produced myself and secondly a show I'm playing. I'll of course put up proper press and more details as soon as I get them. Anyway, here's a sneak peek at the kind of thing going to be shown. ![]() It was my Baby Grind for today, speaking of which... ( Ye Haw! Can you hear: the cat empire - So many nights Hither and thither and yonI've been as busy as bees doing all sorts of work. Mostly graphic design related and drawing for the up coming exhibition. The fringe guide is out and my ad (The one I designed) is in there. It looks rather good to. I love seeing my work published, it makes me feel ever so fulfilled. I'm trying to get my head around a book keeping system the tax office gave me and finding it hard going. All the help files and tutorials are presented as flattened JPGs that my screen reader, obviously, can't reed. Thanks again government accessibility and equal opportunity legislation. I have been having meetings all week and it looks like I'll be having more. January is marching on steadfastly. There are a number of people I need to get in touch with regarding things like publishing, puppets, merchandise, website, printing and a bunch of other stuff. I need to go through everything and write out a list. I fear that a few things are falling off the back of the wagon and I don't want to miss anything important. Art roundaboutsDespite all my busyness I've been doing the Baby grind daily. I think it's good, it grounds me or something. ![]() ( Falling forward into art! )
